Born and raised in the heart of the midwest, Kaitlyn Bailey is a rising senior at Battle High School. Bailey has been involved with her schools newspaper, The Shield, her schools yearbook, The Spearhead, and her schools magazine, BLARM, for the past three years; however, has been the editor-in-chief for the last two years. She is also a reporter for CPS360, her districts broadcast TV program. Bailey also looks forward to having an internship in the fall at a local new station in Columbia, Missouri.
Bailey has also had experience in the journalism field on a national level. She attended the Mizzou Urban Journalism Workshop, a prestigious journalism camp, in 2018 and was a National Youth Correspondent at the Washington Journalism and Media Conference in Washington D.C. in 2019. She also competed in the Student Television Network in Seattle, Washington, in 2019, along with the Journalism Education Association Convention (JEA) in Chicago, Illinois. Bailey was also awarded Outstanding Student in her advanced Broadcast Television Class in 2019 and has placed All-American in both yearbook and newspaper for the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association. At ALA Missouri Girls State, Bailey also served as the editor-in-chief for the Gazette.
In addition to journalism, she takes multiple honors and advanced placement classes. She is in multiple clubs and sports including her high school tennis team and is a member of National Honors Society. She hopes to attend a four-year university to study journalism, specifically broadcast.
